Old Road Craft Spirit’s Barrel King line brings home multiple awards from Fred Minnick’s ASCOT Awards, American Spirits Council of Tasters, blind taste competition.

Old Road Craft Spirits filled their first bottles in March 2022 and entered all four batches to the ASCOT Awards. The four entries included; Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Double Platinum Winner), Straight Rye Whiskey (Gold Winner), Easy Rye (Double Platinum Winner) and Philly Blend (Platinum Winner).

ASCOT Awards is an international spirits competition created by spirits personality and veteran tasting judge, Fred Minnick. Entries were blind-tested and graded on a series of criteria including appearance, aroma, taste, and finish.

Notes from the judges-

Straight Bourbon Whiskey- “A sweet and savory combination of chocolate, baking spices, and a hint of bitter oak on the finish is perfectly balanced and well integrated. Nicely done!”

Straight Rye Whiskey- “Explodes with pepper and baking spices on the palate with flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted nut, pepper, soft chocolate, and vanilla.”

Easy Rye- “Oak and honey shines right through. Unique, satisfying and delicious. Bravo!”

Philly Blend- “There's a lot going on here — strawberries, menthol, cinnamon stick, and grape candy for starters. This is a big, complex and interesting whisky.”

The Double Platinum winners, Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Easy Rye, will move onto the next round and be judged live on Fred Minnick’s Youtube channel. The day and time will be announced soon.
